School Development Plan

Our School Development Plan outlines the improvements that we are working on behind the scenes. We are aspirational for our pupils as we want them to have an exceptional education.

Our priorities for this academic year have been identified after looking at the school's recent Ofsted Inspection and other key documents and evidence sources.

Work started on these priorities at the beginning of the Autumn Term.

2025/2026 School Development Plan Priorities

1.To improve writing outcomes across the school

Historically, writing data has been lower than reading and maths with the disadvantaged highlighted in the IDSR as an area of development. Significant work around the pedagogical, planning and strategic direction of writing is necessary across the next 2-3 years to raise standards in writing lessons and enable quality writing across the curriculum.

2.To develop and build an excellent EYFS offer built on engagement, challenge and robust assessment.

A refreshed approach to the planning and assessment of the learning in Reception will result in the children having the best start to school life at Byfleet Primary School.

3.To raise attainment in MTC in line with the rest of the data set

To continue to develop and improve the analysis-driven and pedagogical approaches to teaching multiplication and timetables, to improve outcomes for children
